Fatima Zahra Filali Adib, Department of Finance

Dr. Filali Adib is Assistant Professor of Finance at ESSEC Business School, a member of the CEPR Research Policy Network on Household Finance, and a member of the DNRF Center of Excellence for Big Data in Finance (BIGFI). Her research lies at the intersection of household finance and corporate finance. She studies how investors form preferences and make financial decisions, and how their behavior, in turn, shapes firms and financial markets. Before joining ESSEC, she was Assistant Professor at Copenhagen Business School. Dr. Filali Adib holds degrees from INSEAD, the University of Illinois, Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, and Al Akhawayn University. 

Vinay Subramanian, Department of Management 

Dr. Vinay Subramanian is Assistant Professor of Management at ESSEC. His research explores technology entrepreneurship, scaling strategy, and commercialization of novel innovation. His dissertation examines how deep-tech ventures explore and learn under conditions of high technological and commercial uncertainty. A second interconnected stream studies how alternate forms of financing and investor identity (corporate venture capital) affect entrepreneurial strategy and innovation. 

His academic career is informed by his extensive global career in VC/PE, finance and operating roles across US, Europe and Asia. Prior to academia, he was a Managing Director at multiple VC/PE funds. Before that, he was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs (New York), Director of Corp. Development at Flipkart and Product Engineer at Schlumberger. He has also been a long-time mentor of the IIT Madras Deep-tech Incubation Cell and other venture studios/startup vehicles.

He has degrees from the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan School), University of Maryland and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras.

Jean-Noël Tronc, Information Systems, Data Analytics and Operations 

Jean-Noël Tronc is Professor of Managerial Practice (PMP) and Co-Academic Director of the Chair for Cultural Industries, Arts, and Creative Technologies at ESSEC.

After studying at Sciences Po and ESSEC, he began his career at Accenture in 1993, then moved to the Commissariat général du Plan in 1995. From 1997 to 2002, he served as an Advisor to Prime Minister Lionel Jospin, focusing on the development of the internet. He then spent five years at Orange France, becoming its CEO in 2006. From 2007 to 2010, he led the international operations of the Canal+ Group. From 2011 to 2021, he was the CEO of SACEM, where he launched the France Créative movement, uniting cultural industries and contributing to the adoption of the 2019 EU Copyright Directive. From 2022 to 2024, he directed the Centre national d’enseignement à distance (Cned).

He serves as a board member of the think tank Confrontations Europe, the Club XXIème siècle, and is a member of the Franco-German Cultural High Council. He has been a member of the Commission for the Liberation of Growth (Attali Commission, 2007–2009), the Scientific Council for School Education (2008–2012), the Strategic Council for Foreign Policy (2017–2019), and led the priority family of cultural and creative industries for export (2018–2021). In 2019, he published a book with Éditions du Seuil on culture, digital technology, and European sovereignty.
