
Xavier Pavie
Xavier Pavie is a professor at ESSEC Business School, Academic Director of the Grande Ecole programme for Asia Pacific, Director of the iMagination centre and Associate Researcher at the Institute for Philosophical Research (IREPH). A graduate in management science, he holds a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Paris Nanterre with an Habilitation in Research Management, and is also a graduate of the International Teachers Programme (HEC Paris). After spending nearly fifteen years in various organizations in charge of marketing and innovation, he joined ESSEC Business School in 2008 to head the Institute for Strategy and Innovation in Services. In 2012, he created the iMagination centre dedicated to imagination, innovation and transdisciplinarity. Xavier Pavie is academically responsible for several executive training programmes, including the Management of Service Innovation and Sustainability certificate, which is designed to train managers in the challenges of innovation and responsibility. Since 2008, his research has focused on the notion of responsible innovation and since 2011 he has been in charge of defining responsible innovation with the support of a network of international universities within a project supported by the European Commission. In 2014, he was appointed Chairman of the "Innovation-regulation-governance" evaluation commission of the ANR (French National Research Agency) in the framework of "Horizon 2020". Xavier Pavie has published some twenty books and articles in management and philosophy, both academic and for a wider public. His book, "L'innovation à l'épreuve de la philosophie" (PUF 2018) was voted best management book 2019 by FNEGE. His latest book: Philosophie critique de l'innovation et de l'innovateur (ISTE 2020).
